Education Program
Our Program is designed to meet the unique needs of you and your horse. The main goal in our Human+Equine Partnership℠ Education Program is to help you and your horse develop and maintain a safe, enjoyable, and healthy partnership.
Developed over decades, our program uses our knowledge of horses and people, equitation science, best practices and respectful communication. We focus on safety and “transition behaviors” by reducing unsafe behaviors and increasing safe behaviors. We target reducing unsafe behaviors such as biting, kicking, bucking, halter/bridle issues, hard to catch and other behaviors by looking for the root cause of these behaviors (human & horse). Focusing on increasing safe behaviors results in you and your horse having a great time together. By working with both partners we achieve improved communication, response and overall partnership. Our experience, education, and belief in an enlightened Human+Equine Partnership℠ offers a new path to success.
Human+Equine Partnership℠ Education Program
While there are well established systems of learning and experience that will benefit everyone, we believe each partnership is unique and develops in its own fashion. The
Human+Equine Partnership℠ Education Program has basic steps that are necessary for success, but the steps are used in individualized ways that benefit each partnership most effectively. The development and application of these steps is your unique Human+Equine Partnership℠ Education Program.

Our expectations of you
Our program requires that you be with us while we are training and encourages that you participate when it is appropriate. We encourage you to be as active and involved as possible.
We work with you and your horse at your home or where you are keeping your horse. It is your responsibility to have your horse ready for the session on time. Being ready means caught, clean enough for the goals, tack ready, and working place clean and free of clutter. The only exception to this is if you and your horse are dealing with being caught. In this case the session starts when we begin the session to work on being caught.
We do not take the horse away from your care during your Human+Equine Partnership℠ Education Program. We are not responsible for the care of your horse while you are in the program.
Disclaimer
We have developed a series of steps that work for us and the people and horses we have worked with. Horses and people are living, intelligent, conscious, free-willed creatures and working with them can be dangerous. It is important that we all use good sense, careful consideration, kindness and knowledge when working together. We want everyone to be safe and happy in our education sessions. We want to help you know, understand, and apply the safest actions. We cannot guarantee the results, but we do guarantee that we will do what we can to help you and your horse develop a safe, enjoyable, and healthy partnership.
We will provide you with an equine training contract to sign before we begin the Program.

Price: $60. This is a non refundable fee due at the beginning of the assessment. |

The assessment is the time for you and your horse to meet us and to let us know what you want to change in your partnership with your horse. It is also the time when we get to meet the two of you and see how you interact. We determine if we can help you and your horse and if you are comfortable with us. Subsequent assessments do not have an additional fee. |

Each session will last between 30 minutes and 50 minutes. Each session will start when we arrive. We do not have a set number of sessions to achieve the goals of the program. We are dedicated to reaching the Human+Equine PartnershipSM Education Program goals efficiently. |

*All taxi services must be prepaid. If we are picking up
supplies we ask that you either pay the vendor in
advance. We also ask that you notify the vendors that Almost
You in Home Animal Care will be providing
transportation for your pet or picking up your feed and
supplies.
I have loved animals all my life. I
have probably spent more time in the company of animals
than humans. Currently I live with three horses, two
dogs and two cats. I think that the connection between
people and animals is precious and should be mutually
respectful and caring. 
My love for
animals has been life-long and I am grateful that I get
to spend my days with so many amazing critters. Growing
up around animals, I was lucky to learn at a young age
that animals deserve to be treated gently and
respectfully. Raised in the San Fernando Valley, I rode
with the California Rangers and later became active in
FFA. I became a registered nurse and was privileged to
care for thousands of patients over two decades. My
adventures in nursing took me from the L.A. County
Medical Center as a psychiatric and jail nurse to Temple
University Hospital working with solid organ transplant
recipients. Later I had my own business as a Certified
Legal Nurse Consultant, worked as a wound care nurse and
spent my final years as a nurse serving hospice
patients. After moving to Prescott in 2013 I wanted to
spend more time with animals so I began volunteering at
a rescue. One year later I became an employee, then
assistant manager and spent the next several years
giving love to and providing care for hundreds of
livestock. These days I am grateful for the opportunity
to share my love, skills and knowledge with those who
have a need for our services. I will continue to strive
every day to provide the best care and service possible
to all of our clients, both human and animal.
